The Peter MacKeith Memorial Photography Exhibition is an annual adventure-themed juried exhibition held in memory of Peter MacKeith. Peter was a renowned adventurer and mountaineer who, after traveling a great deal of the world, came to UAF as a doctoral student in glaciology. He was an active member of the Alaska Alpine Club and a photographer and often coordinated climbing excursions throughout Alaska with his friends. He passed away during an incident while climbing Old Snowy in the Delta Range. Through his will, UAF received two endowments: one to fund climbing excursions through the Alaska Alpine Club and the second to promote amateur photography at UAF.
Frozen Lenses would like to thank Seth Adams for being our juror this year. He had the difficult task of selecting 25 images from the 60 submitted. The show will be on display at Arctic Java in the Wood Center from March 3- March 17. There is also an exhibition catalog available for $25 for those who are interested which you can preview here. If you are interested in purchasing one, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you to all of our artists, our juror and all of those who volunteered their time to make this show possible!
