February Photo Contest, "Night," is Now Open!
February 1 is here and with that comes..... Art Month! (It's not as catchy as Art Week, but it will have to do for now).
After running several iterations of Art Week Spring 2016, we listened to your feedback and have revamped the contest. So if you have not joined us for one of these yet, don't worry- we are all starting on the same page!
Here's how it works:
Each month will have it's own theme. February is "Night" (encompassing all low-light situations). The contest is open from February 1- February 28. You mission is to go out and shoot, bearing this theme in mind. "Night" is purposefully broad- be creative! Try light-painting, long exposures, auroras, you name it.
Once you have a photo (or many!) you like, post it to our "Night" February Art Contest folder on Facebook. You may enter as many times as you like. Over the course of the month, our followers (and your friends, if you encourage them!) will like their favorite photos (again, as many as they wish, there is no limit on likes). When the contest closes at 11:59pm on February 28, whoever has the most votes, wins!
February is dark and cold and it's easy to swear off photography when you don't have a reason to shoot. Hopefully this will have you dusting off your camera and looking for new opportunities.
Now for the rules:
- Post as many photos as you like, as long as they were taken between Feb 1-Feb 28, 2017
- All processes (digital, film, phone, alt, manipulated, etc) are welcome!
- Photos must represent the theme of the contest.
Stumped for ideas? Our meetings this month all related to theme in some way. Stop by for some inspiration!
